Beryl Baigent

Beryl Baigent is the author of twelve books of poetry including Hiraeth: In Search of Celtic Origin (Third Eye, London); Triptych: Virgins Victims Votives (Moonstone Press, Goderich), and And A Branch Shall Grow: The Irish Connection (Third Eye). Her new book is In Praise of Darkness (Cranberry Tree Press, 2010). She is also published in many anthologies, including Poetry and Spiritual Practice (St. Thomas Press, Toronto).

Beryl has taught T'ai Chi, Sacred Dance, Yoga, and Creative Writing for the continuing education program in Oxford County for forty years. She is also the focalizer for a Women's Spirituality Grove which has been in operation for twenty years. Each year she makes a trip to her homeland, Wales, and gives readings and writing workshops, sometimes incorporating T'ai Chi or Sacred Dance, along with subjects such as art history and Taoist philosophy. She is a member of the League of Canadian Poets and of the Welsh Academy, and her biography can be found on either of these sites.
