Susan Gold Smith

Susan Gold/Smith is a local artist and professor of visual art at the University of Windsor. For many years she has worked with international correspondence art communities, notions of the gift, and alternative economies for art work.

"Working with Words" is a display of book forms resulting from the collaborations between visual arts and writers. Included are inspiring local and international examples.

"Working with Words" will have a performative component. Susan Gold will create “wearable words” on site from a word selected by BookFest Windsor participants.

Included will be Alan Stein’s collaborations with Al Purdy and PK Page, Wrinkle Press (Nicole Markotic) chapbooks, several books from Perfect Book, founded in 2008 by Sara Sizer Marzona in Berlin, a bookstore housing 10,000 out-of-print art books, zines, ephemera and artist books, and Cabinet, a collaborative handmade book by Karen Klein, Susan Gold and Bill Harris.
